TESTIMONIALS The Lasik Surgery Clinic
'I had a bad pre-lasik evaluation experience in Portugal 5 years ago. All they did was to run me through a 10-minute test without much explanation or counseling. After that I was told that it would cost me $5000 to undergo Lasik surgery at their clinic. That bad experience put me off doing the procedure.
Recently however, I went through the internet in search of clinics specializing in Lasik surgery in Singapore, and chanced upon The Lasik Surgery Clinic. I've been residing in Singapore for the past 3 years and am fully aware of the high local medical standards. I found that I was able to carry out my pre-Lasik evaluation, surgery and post-operation reviews all at one place. These two confidence and convenience factors served to boost my willingness to undergo Lasik surgery in Singapore, rather than neighboring countries like Malaysia and Thailand.
I was impressed from the moment I stepped into the clinic. I was greeted by warm smiles and the staff were very helpful and approachable. After all the tests were done, I was recommended two treatments. Although the doctor told me that Standard Lasik would be good enough to correct my myopia and slight astigmatism, I opted for the more advanced treatment, Wavefront Lasik, which was likely to further reduce my night vision problems. Although it was more expensive, the results were phenomenal!
I still remember prior to the surgery, I was anxious and fidgety about the procedure. Fortunately, the nurses were there to calm me down and to my pleasant surprise the surgery was over in just 15 minutes! It is like a dream come true to wake up in the mornings without having to scramble for my glasses or contact lenses.' |

'I had been doing research about Lasik and one of the main concerns I had was the pricing factor and value for money. My sister-in-law and family members were skeptical about going to a private practice and strongly advised me to go to a restructured hospital. However I quickly realized that the charges there could actually be more expensive and on top of that, the schedules at the various other hospitals were always fixed for patients to suit the doctor's appointment. I wanted to do my procedure at a place where the patient comes first and I found it at LSC (Lasik Surgery Clinic).
Among the other choices that I had was to travel overseas for the surgery but despite the slightly cheaper pricing due to the exchange rate, I found that traveling to and fro from Johor (in Malaysia) for my surgery and various follow ups would be too much of a hassle. Since it would mean that I would have to be on the roads for the traveling, there would be more chances of getting infections. This alone would not justify the lower price.
Even after agreeing to do my procedure here, I was not absolutely sure. In the wait to do my surgery, I was reduced to a bunch of nerves but the very dedicated nurses all tried to keep me calm. One of the nurses also mentioned that she was doing her surgery the day after me so at least I had a companion to share the excitement.
From there on, I've not had a single regret in making The Lasik Surgery Clinic my choice for doing the surgery. The ever friendly staffs, even in after-surgery care was extremely comforting, and I've never looked back since. Now I share my joy in doing Lasik over at LSC with friends and family members who are considering doing the procedure, knowing that they are well taken care of.' |

'I have had no problems reading before and only with age, I started having difficulty looking at fine print. It became even more frustrating due to the nature of my job and that's when I began thinking about Lasik.
I am from Australia and before I moved over here, I did check out a few places in Australia that do the surgery and they were all very expensive. It was not until my husband came over to Singapore that I saw your advertisement and thought about doing my procedure here.
I got a very strong feeling the moment I stepped into the clinic. The clinic staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. They led me through every step of my Lasik surgery from pre-operation to post-operation. During my pre-lasik evaluation, I was well informed of the surgical procedures, pricing and after-care, essentially all that I needed to know about the surgery. The team of highly experienced and professional doctors and nurses boosted my confidence throughout the entire process.
The results I got from The Lasik Surgery Clinic were great! Now I am just ecstatic to be able to have good vision without the use of glasses and contact lenses altogether.' |

'I indulge a lot in water sports especially wakeboarding. Glasses were always in the way and quite ridiculous to have on while playing. I've had on contact lenses for a long time but due to the speed, the seawater tends to get splashed into my eyes causing stinging feelings and my contact lenses have also gotten lost when I fall into the water.
The staff members that I interacted with were very obliging even though it was my first time there, so much so that I knew I would be well taken care of. The doctor had been very fastidious and attentive. He made sure that I knew exactly what I would be in for and answered all my questions in a way that I could totally understand. He explained in detail all the possibilities and the various surgeries he could perform on me but recommended the Standard Lasik by Visx as I am low-powered of about 300 degrees on both eyes with very minute astigmatism.
The professionalism of the doctor and the very service-oriented staffs and nurses, and of course, the pricing factor made me decide on doing the surgery with LSC (Lasik Surgery Clinic).
The surgery itself was over in a couple of minutes and I feel great now that I can wakeboard without the hassle of contact lenses and glasses! I was so happy with the results that I brought my husband along for my first review the day after the surgery to do his evaluation!' |

'Everyone in the family has perfect vision except my twin sister and I who were "blessed" with such high power of above 1000 degrees! I had wanted to do Lasik 5 - 6 years ago and I did go to one of the government hospitals for an evaluation but was rejected due to my high power. Technology then didn't allow high-powered sufferers like my sister and I to do the surgery. It was a hassle with the other options because my glasses were very heavy due to the thick lenses and I'm extremely prone to getting infections and couldn't wear contact lenses for long. Recently when my sister and I went back to the same place for another evaluation, we were rejected yet again due to our high myopia and thin corneas. The staff even advised us against doing the surgery! I was extremely disappointed.
I was very surprised when my sister told me that there's chance for us through a similar procedure, Epi-Lasik! However, my husband, being blessed with perfect vision, didn't understand the trouble I had to go through with glasses and contact lenses. He disapproved me going for the surgery also because he'd heard the many myths, risks and side effects about the surgery.
I decided to egg my sister into doing the surgery first. At least she would have a first hand experience and could give us a testimonial about the surgery to put my husband's mind at ease. On my part, I did research about Epi-Lasik since it was something new to me, just to be sure.
After hearing the first hand experience from my sister, my husband decided to let me go ahead with the surgery! The doctor was very dedicated and meticulous. He explained everything to me from the consultation room all the way into the operating theater. The nurses were also very caring. Together they made me feel I would be well taken care of. The nurse really helped to calm me down and even accompanied me into the operating theater which made me feel very touched that they genuinely care for me.
We (my sister and I) are extremely happy with the results! We now do not wake up "blind" and groping for our glasses, and I didn't suffer much night vision problems! I can drive very confidently at night!' |

'Everyday we (my sister and I) wake up almost blind, groping around for our glasses! Contacts didn't work very well for me as I kept getting dry eyes and I couldn't have them in for long! Therefore, I thought, since the government hospitals can't do anything about our eyesight, I decided to try private practices.
With the help of my husband, through a few contacts, I got to know about The Lasik Surgery Clinic and decided to pop by for a quick visit a couple of months after the second evaluation at the government hospital. Through the staff, it was when I realized that there was another option for high-powered sufferers with thin corneas! This alternative is called Epi-Lasik. Immediately I text my sister to tell her about the good news and she was exhilarated! It was our last chance! It was made known to me that the inventor of this amazing technology was Professor Pallikaris, the clinic advisor for LSC!
Of course I was hesitant at first because this technology seems so new, but upon the doctor's patience in explaining all I needed to know, the support given by my husband and sister, I decided to go ahead with the surgery. Of course the clinic does look very impressive as well and the staff were all very service-oriented.
After the surgery, I went through the entire process of the recovery. I was amazed with the results! Despite my thin corneas and high myopia, amazingly my vision was crystal clear! It was such an experience so much so that this time I egged my sister to go with the surgery! I was worried when my vision fluctuated, but the doctor told me to be patient and let the eyes heal, and he was right! After two months my vision stabilized!
Although the fee for this surgery is pricier than the conventional Lasik, both of us (my sister and I) feel it was worth every penny, simply because if you think of it in the long run, the consistent amount we had to pay for our glasses, contact lenses, solutions and in my sister's case, the doctor's fee to treat her infections from contacts, it would amount to more than the surgery itself! Money can always be earned but not perfect vision! We came to the right place!' |

'Firstly I must say that I am really happy and satisfied with my vision now. In fact, I could already "see" results minutes after the surgery.
The pre-surgery process was definitely assuring and pleasant. As I entered the Operating Theatre / Recovery Area, I had a really good feeling as the whole place was spick and span and well maintained. At my seat, the nurse gave me a consent form to look through, approve and authorize so that I was aware of the responsibilities of both my eye surgeon and myself. The use of all medication was clearly explained to me in a way that was easy to understand. I was also advised on the activities and places I should avoid to minimize the risk of an eye infection after the surgery. I was then given a patient's advice list that provided a useful summary of what was explained to me.
The nurse proceeded to prepare me for my surgery. I put on a surgical gown, hair cap, feet covers and a face mask. The area around my eyes was also cleaned with some iodine solution. While my eyes were being cleaned, the nurse told me what was to be expected during the surgery. All I had to do was relax and abide by the doctor's instructions and everything would go fine. At that point in time, I felt really assured of the medical hygiene that the LSC has. I thought that Lasik is just a 15-minute outpatient surgery. I didn't expect such thorough and meticulous pre-surgery procedures.
As I entered the operating theatre for my surgery, I saw the entire surgical team all prepared like me, with surgical gown, hair cap, face mask, and gloves. That really gave me a great sense of professionalism. I really felt that I was in good hands! During the surgery, my eye surgeon prepped me before every single surgical procedure so that I knew what was to be expected. And indeed, the whole surgical process was really smooth and over very quickly.
After my surgery, I was led back to my seat to rest my eyes. The nurse sterilized her hands with an anti-bacterial gel then put some antibiotic eye drops into my eyes after which she covered both my eyes with protective shields. She advised me to ensure that my hands were clean too before I dropped the eye drops on my own. She then affirmed that I could be discharged.
Overall, I am really glad to have chosen the LSC for my Lasik surgery. The service and vision results that I'd gotten definitely exceeded my expectations!' |
